Rotary Club of Deonar came into being under Chartered
President Dr. N.S. Amonkar and was given the charter by R.I. on March 9th,
1987.
A brain child of Rotary Club of Chembur, the then GSR Hari Dalal and with
the full support of the then District Governor Dr. Chandrakant Mirje, the
club flourished with enthusiasm and discipline under the able guidance of
Dr. Amonkar.
JD Raje, an icon of Polio plus movement took it to different heights with a name in the district. It was Jetly who spearheaded the go getting attitude and things stated happening.
1990-91, GG Kamat stabilized the club fellowship wiht Ravindra's meticulous planning saw the first Rotary Ambulance, this side of the district.
Rajiv Dave and Narsiah Garu opened up manual of procedure for better working of the Club.
Chandrabhushan had his highlights in high collection of TRF and it was Raju who showed the Club ways of Event Management and Sports event was held for Differently Able, this was well continued by Ramesh.
Ballal brought the first Song and Slogan for the Club.
Pramod and Narendra Kalra were responsible for fellowship and Eye Care.
In 2001-02, the Club got its rightful venue and a younger gentry under Gautam's leadership.
Commander Jana, Jhankar, Ram, Kannan and Usha have kept up the pace and every year raised the benchmark to new level.
RYLA, Polio Plus, Disable meet, Up gradation of Hospital, and Public utilities has been the landmark of the Club.
