It is my proud privilege to lead this Dynamic club in its 21 st year since the Charter!
As I pen down my warm greetings to one and all in this maiden message to Share ROTARY, (RI theme for the action year 2007-08), let us share ROTARY feelings, gratitude, and togetherness in our family, with our neighbours, friends, in profession, in our vocation, amongst elders and young one's.
I have outlined our Thrust area and have already started our activities in this action year,
a) Green Vision; We have identified the location near Karjat for construction of Toilet Blocks in Shelu Village ... (Matching grant project from Rotary club of Holland )
b) Child First ; Vitamin drops for approx. 1200 students are planned in three different schools in Deonar and we have already started giving them in a batch of 250 students per week. Nutritional counselling is also done in the school for the Parents and Children. We are keeping records of the children's height; weight apart from good health and advice them accordingly. We shall follow up for the results (one session p/mth) and record for future reference till the students pass out from the school.
c) Women Empowerment; we are planning to start for women, vocational self employment scheme's in the adopted village near Shelu. How to be self sufficient and self finance schemes. We shall be inducting on the installation day 4 women Members, who are looking forward to share their valuable ideas which will be benefited to the society by and large.
Meaningful Projects as per the designated Rotary Months are being thoughtfully conceived and shall be efficiently executed, and we shall also need to publicise the projects with grace and dignity as Rotary Awareness in the society.
We shall grow in terms of club membership and shall pay more attention in Literacy programmes, Hunger concerns, water management (Borewells) etc.
I shall take pride in leading from Front; it is all about thinking Big, thinking differently, and thinking together and shall put Rotary principles into action.
R/Ann Gayathri joins me in wishing you all the very best and wish for an eventful action year 2007-08.
